8 Reasons Why Squarespace Is The Bomb Diggity

Don't get me wrong, I had my travel blog on Wordpress for two years before I switched to Squarespace. Were they a good two years? Nope. For me, Wordpress was a daily struggle, running regular updates, paying for plugins for additional features, changing my theme and side bar constantly.

And although Wordpress was very flexible, if you are not a coder, it's not a fun platform to have your whole website based on. Since I switched my blog to Squarespace, I have never looked back and today I want to share just some of the reasons why Squarespace is the bomb diggity when it comes to website platforms.

1. It's Beautiful

I don't think I have seen an ugly Squarespace website yet! Each and every one of their themes make for a beautifully designed website. Whilst Squarespace is highly customisable, its simplicity is key to representing businesses and blogs alike. You can check out just some of the themes available here.

2. No Plugins Required

When I switched from Squarespace, I was like "Whattt, no plugins! How does that work?" Most features you would have required a plugin for on Wordpress, are already in-built with Squarespace. For instance, features such as search engine optimisation (SEO), a Pin It button and social media buttons are all already integrated.

*Note, there are some plugins available but they are really not needed to create a beautifully designed and customisable website.

3. Easy to maintain

One of the main reasons I love Squarespace as a web designer is that it is super easy to maintain once I hand it over to my clients. Whilst I have everything in place when I hand over the final website design to my client, I want the platform to be easy for them to jump in and make quick updates, implement new opt ins and schedule new blog posts.

4. All In One

Squarespace is an all-in-one platform. Anything you could want, cover pages, landing pages, webinar registration pages, thank you pages, you name it! Squarespace has the capability to do it! There is no need for expensive lead capture software such as Lead Pages when you have everything you need right here in Squarespace. Cancel your other subscriptions now girlboss!

5. IT'S Affordable

For all the integrations, features and support you receive, Squarespace is surprisingly good value for money. Your website platform should not cost a fortune to maintain. Squarespace plans start from $12 per month billed annually and include a mobile optimised website, SSL security, powerful website analytics, 24/7 customer support and even a free custom domain name! How's that for value! And because I am a Squarespace Circle member, if you work with me, you'll receive 20% off your plan.

6. Their Customer Support Team

Squarespace's customer support team is the bomb diggity, fo' real. Open a support ticket, or if it is between Monday - Friday 3am - 8pm Eastern Standard Time, you can jump on the live chat with their super helpful and friendly support staff. I have used them many times before and trust me, they know their stuff and will answer your question or solve your frustration just like that.

7. Mobile optimised

Squarespace templates are inherently optimised for mobile. In today's day and age, where mobile users are starting to surpass desktop users, it is vital that your website be both pretty and functional on mobile devices. When you are previewing pages in Squarespace's backend, you can even choose tablet or smartphone view to see what your readers are seeing.

8. SEO Friendly

Last but not least, Squarespace is SEO friendly. Mobile optimisation in part contributes to this as Google are starting to penalise websites that are not optimised for mobile in Google search results. In Squarespace, you can easily name pages, write meta descriptions and change the alt-tags for your images.
